The CCA has just started a campaign called Co-operating for Fair Trade, designed to get co-operatives and credit unions more involved in fair trade practices. It seems like a good fit–after all, the seventh international principle of co-operation (concern for community) doesn’t have to stop at Canada’s borders…

Thanks for posting this on your blog, Shane! And thank you for pointing out the connection between Fair Trade and the 7th principle of co-operation. I just wanted to add that since most Fair Trade producers in developing countries are agricultural co-ops, the 6th principle (Co-operation among Co-operatives) is also relevant to the Fair Trade campaign.
